Mack Robles (also known as Imp) is a trans and queer illustrator, author, and Library Science major from Tijuana, Mexico. He also has an engineering degree in Digital Graphic Design that he rarely uses, opting instead for the study of books, and digital art with a primarily queer focus.

Mack’s art serves a concrete purpose for him: to deceive the spirit -always mimetic- into being something else. Instead of allowing the art to be a reflection of the pain carried within, it turns into a projection of hopes, wishes, dreams, tricking the shadows within into transformation. In other words: fake it ’til you make it, but through art.

Mack Robles (también conocido como Imp) es un ilustrador trans y queer, autor, y próximo licenciado en Biblioteconomía, nacido en Tijuana, México. Titulado como Ingeniero en Diseño Gráfico Digital, raramente hace uso de esa carrera, prefiriendo el estudio de los libros y el arte digital con un enfoque primordialmente queer.

El arte de Mack tiene para él un propósito concreto: engañar al espíritu -siempre mimético- a ser algo más. En lugar de permitir que el arte sea un reflejo del dolor que lleva dentro, lo convierte en una proyección de esperanzas, deseos, sueños… engañando a la sombra que vive adentro para que se transforme. En otras palabras: finge hasta que lo consigas, pero a través del arte…
